## Axes

- **Value index (X, 0 to 100).** Main-story hours divided by the lowest observed price, indexed so that 2.5 hours per dollar scores 100. Free-to-play games score 100 by definition.
- **Review score (Y, 0 to 100).** Our reviewer score multiplied by ten.
- Dividing lines sit at value 50 and score 90. The score line is at 90 because our published scale calls 9.0 and above Essential.

## Quadrants

- **Essentials.** Scores highly and costs little per hour.
- **Premium picks.** Excellent, and you pay for it.
- **Bargains.** A lot of game for the money, short of a masterpiece.
- **Situational.** Narrower appeal on both axes.
