About GamingPickz
GamingPickz is an independent games catalogue. We track 16 games across 29 platforms, from the 1994 PlayStation through current consoles, PC, phone and tablet. Every entry is written by a person who has played the game.
What we do differently
- One page per game, not one page per keyword. Everything we know about a title lives on a single page: the review, every platform release date, performance modes, system requirements, editions and pricing.
- We say how long we played. Every review states hours played before scoring. If we have not finished a game, we say so and label the piece in progress.
- We date everything and revisit it. Games change. Each page carries a last updated date, and we return to live-service titles as they shift.
- We show our sources. Factual claims link to publisher pages, storefronts and ratings boards.
Who writes here
Ranjeeth · Editor
I have been playing and writing about games for over twenty years, and I have played somewhere around 3,000 of them. That number is less impressive than it sounds and more useful than it looks: it means that when I tell you a game is doing something new, I have a reasonably large sample to be wrong about, and when I tell you a mechanic is borrowed, I can usually tell you what it was borrowed from.
What twenty years actually buys you is pattern recognition. I have watched three separate generations decide that open worlds were the future, and I have watched most of those games ship the same empty map with a different skin on it. So when one of them works, I am interested in why, and that is usually what these reviews are about.
I edit everything published here and sign off the factual data on each game page before it goes live. If a number on this site is wrong, that is on me.
Mikan · Contributing writer
Mikan has spent three years playing and reviewing games, publishing video reviews and playthroughs on the MIKAN GAME LIFE YouTube channel. That work is public, which means the judgements behind the scores here can be checked against hours of recorded play.
He covers current-generation console releases and live-service games for this site.
How we are funded
This site is funded by display advertising. Advertisements are labelled, we do not control which ads appear, and no advertiser sees or influences our editorial before it publishes. We do not accept payment for coverage, for a score, or for a placement in any list. Read our editorial policy for the full detail.
What we do not do
We do not host, sell, distribute or link to game files, emulators or ROMs. We do not publish leaked or embargoed material. We do not republish other outlets' reviews.
