Why group by class instead of exact GPU?

Graphics card names do not order into precise tiers, and hundreds of them would rank wrongly often, which would send someone to buy a game their machine cannot run. Grouping by generation, integrated, an entry card, a mainstream card, a modern one, is coarse but honest, and it matches how people describe their own machine.
