Jak II

Jak II is a 2003 platform video game developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 2 (PS2). A sequel to Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy (2001), it places the protagonist Jak in the dystopian Haven City, where he pursues vengeance against the tyrannical Baron Praxis after two years of torturous experiments. The gameplay features a seamless open world driven by non-linear missions, melee combat complemented by a firearm, and vehicular travel by hoverboard or hovercars. Jak can transform into a powerful Dark Jak form and inflict devastating attacks against enemies.

Where Jak II sits on the grid

The grid places every game in the catalogue on measured axes rather than on an opinion. This is where Jak II lands on each map it has the data for, with the share of the catalogue it beats on each axis.

The whole catalogueLargely forgotten
Year
64ahead of 17% of the catalogue
Reach
32ahead of 74% of the catalogue

Percentiles are against the games that carry a reading on that axis, not the whole catalogue: counting a game with no figure as a zero would flatter everything that has one. How the grid works.

What readers say about Jak II

Reviews written by people who have played it. These are separate from the GamingPickz Score and are never averaged into it: that score comes from thousands of Steam reviews with a sample-size correction, and a handful of unverified ratings would distort it rather than improve it.
