M.U.L.E.
M.U.L.E. is a 1983 strategy video game written for Atari 8-bit computers by Ozark Softscape. Designer Danielle Bunten Berry takes advantage of the four joystick ports of the Atari 400 and 800 to allow four-player simultaneous play. Published in 1983, M.U.L.E. was one of the first five games from Electronic Arts, alongside Axis Assassin, Archon: The Light and the Dark, Worms?, and Hard Hat Mack. M.U.L.E. is primarily a turn-based strategy game, but also incorporates real-time elements where players compete directly, as well as aspects that simulate economics.

Where M.U.L.E. sits on the grid
The grid places every game in the catalogue on measured axes rather than on an opinion. This is where M.U.L.E. lands on each map it has the data for, with the share of the catalogue it beats on each axis.
- Year
- 33ahead of 1% of the catalogue
- Reach
- 30ahead of 72% of the catalogue
Percentiles are against the games that carry a reading on that axis, not the whole catalogue: counting a game with no figure as a zero would flatter everything that has one. How the grid works.
What readers say about M.U.L.E.
Reviews written by people who have played it. These are separate from the GamingPickz Score and are never averaged into it: that score comes from thousands of Steam reviews with a sample-size correction, and a handful of unverified ratings would distort it rather than improve it.
